The Trustee is assigned many cases a month.  Those cases generate a tremendous amount of contact from debtors, creditors and attorneys.  Without an efficient system for handling the contact, the Trustee's staff would have virtually no chance of responding in a meaningful fashion.  Please help us to help you by following these instructions when contacting the Trustee's office:

.

.

PLEASE REVIEW THE INFORMATION ON THIS SITE FIRST.

If you are looking for general information, check the links to the left, especially the "Frequently Asked Questions" page.  You may find just what you need, without even contacting us.

.

.

PLEASE OBTAIN DOCUMENTS FROM THE BANKRUPTCY CLERK'S OFFICE.

Because the Trustee has a responsibility to keep the costs of administration down, we cannot provide copies of documents to the general public, even parties to a case.

.

If you have an account with PACER, the on-line docketing system, you may access case information and documents for cases filed in the Central District of California by clicking here.

.

Otherwise, please click here for instructions for obtaining case information by phone or in person, and accessing PACER or obtaining documents in person or by mail.

.

.

PLEASE SUBMIT DOCUMENTS AS DIRECTED ON THE "341(a)" PAGE.

Click the link to the left for "The Trustee Meeting (341a)" for instructions concerning submission of documents to the Trustee.  Please do not attempt personal delivery of documents to the Trustee's office, unless specially asked.  The Trustee works in a secure building, and you will not be admitted without prior arrangement.

.

.

PLEASE COMMUNICATE WITH US IN WRITING.

This serves a number of purposes.  First, it allows everyone to "track" your request.  You can tell when you sent it, and we can tell when we received it.  Second, it allows us to make sure that we understand what you need.  Third, it provides us with the information we need to respond to you, including your address and telephone number.

.

We do not accept deliveries to our offices.  The Trustee works in a secure building, and you will not be admitted without prior arrangement.

.

We no longer have a fax line.  Please communicate with us by e-mail only if you have been contacted by the Trustee or her staff by e-mail, or have been instructed to do so.

WHERE COMMUNICATION IN WRITING IS NOT FEASIBLE, CALL THE TRUSTEE LINE.

Before you call, here's what you need to know about the Trustee line.  First, it is secondary to contact in writing.  See the discussion above.   Second, it is an automated system.  This is for your convenience and protection, as well as ours.  You must leave a message to contact us.  We log every message, so that we know who called, when, and about which case.  Using the log, we can pull together case information so that we can respond to your question, and we can try to handle calls in the order in which they are received.  If you don't leave a message, it is as if you never called.

.

Okay, if you have followed these rules,

you may call the Trustee Line:

(714) 708-8190

INSTRUCTIONS RELATED TO THE 341(a) TRUSTEE MEETING.

If you need to request a continuance of the 341(a) Meeting, please do so in writing, far enough in advance of the Meeting to allow us to process a response.  If an emergency occurs shortly before the Meeting, please use the Trustee's voicemail system, as provided above.  Please note that you may not receive confirmation of your message prior to the hearing, but a note will be made of the call, and an appropriate response will be made as soon as is practical.

.

Please, please, please do not call the day before your Trustee Meeting to ask if your Meeting will be taken off calendar.  We will contact you if your Meeting is off calendar.  Unless we contact you, assume that it is on calendar.

.

The earlier you produce requested documents, the more likely it will be that the Trustee will have an opportunity to review them, and to confirm that she needs no further appearance.  The logistics of preparing for 341(a) Meetings take at least a couple of days prior to the Meetings, so it is highly unlikely that the Trustee will be able to review and process all late-submitted documents.  Please do not submit documents a day before the Meeting, then leave multiple messages on the Trustee's voicemail asking if the Meeting will be off calendar.  Again, your Meeting will be on calendar unless you are advised otherwise.

.

.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL OUR LAW FIRM LINE FOR A TRUSTEE MATTER.

The Trustee has a law firm, but the law firm does not work on all Trustee cases, and cannot provide information or respond to calls regarding cases that are not assigned to them.  If you call the law firm number regarding a Trustee case, the staff will just direct you to the Trustee's number, so you will have wasted time.
